Photography
I enjoy photography and have done for many years.
I have worked my way up from a manual 35mm compact camera, through two APS
cameras and I now have a Nikon F65. I have been most impressed with the
versatility and quality of photos that this 35mm Single-Lens-Reflex camera can
produce. I have 2 lenses, a Nikon 28-80mm zoom lens, and a 70-300mm telephoto
lens. I have recently aquired a 50mm f1.4 Nikon lens with a few filters to play
around with.
These are a selection of photos that I have produced with this camera.
I am still very much on the first rungs of the learning ladder and am keen on
absorbing as much as I can about this media.

Eastnor Steam Fayre Landscapes Flowers
Trees Waterfall
 |
This photo was taken in our garden on an exceptionally bright
day. I used my 28-80mm zoom lens. The dark green background provided by the
hedge behind the flower really sets off the vibrant colours of the petals. |

This photo was taken on a visit to Eastnor Castle near
Cheltenham. I was looking over a parapet and liked the way the trees framed the
shot. |
 |
This photo was also taken at Eastnor Castle. There was a Steam
Fayre being held there and the place was packed. I wanted to capture the power
of these great machines and this photo shows one almost ploughing its way
through a sea of people. |

This photo was taken at Eastnor Castle Steam Fair. |

This image was taken whilst on holiday in Seefeld in July 2001. I
used a fast shutter and managed to get the water to almost freeze into
droplets. This was a small waterfall to the side of Krimmel Waterfalls, the
highest waterfalls in Europe. I found that the larger waterfalls too difficult
to photograph - spray and the large amounts of water gave produced photos that
were very white and did not show the full power and beauty of the falls. |
